Halifax Imaging Conference and Trade Show 2012

What a great week spent in Halifax! An annual gathering where we can meet photographers from all over the country and make new contacts.

The first day was spent visiting Halifax and its surroundings. The highlight of this day was sunset at Peggy’s Cove. I have to go back there: I want to spend more than just a few hours and shoot many more photos of this breathtaking site.

Also, many excellent speakers: well-known pros such as Walden’s Photography and Joe Glyda just to name a few. Continuing education is a necessity for all professionals (regardless of his/her field) and a convention such as this one is the best place to get just that for professional photographers.

My personal highlight from this whole week was having the MPA (Master of Photographic Arts) award bestowed upon me. I had set this as a goal as soon as I joined the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada). I am extremely proud of this achievement, which comes after many years of work and effort: completing 15 accreditations, participating in many image competitions and working for the association.

I am also extremely proud of having my four images accepted in the national competition. Thanks to everyone who participated in the creation of these photos. We’ll be shooting more in the year to come :-)

Alright, that’s it for honours this year! I am so looking forward to wedding season taking off. And I also have a wonderful weekend ahead of me: I’m leaving tomorrow for NYC for a pre-wedding shoot with a lovely young couple from Manhattan.
