Myriame and Eric
Myriame and Eric’s wedding on the shores of lake Edja was a really beautiful event.
Lake Edja, in the vicinity of Blue Sea Lake, is a real little gem. Quiet and secluded thanks to the surrounding hills, it’s a perfect spot to celebrate an outdoor wedding.
One has to be well-prepared to shoot an outdoor wedding. We were lucky and there was only a bit of rain; it came down during the family portrait portion of the post-ceremony photography and we needed to move to the tent area where everything was set up for the reception to finish this part. But the sun came out again and we were able to go back outdoors for the wedding party and couple shots. Even if a plan B had been established and we could have worked indoors, it’s always nicer when we can take advantage of the great outdoors for these shots, even more so when the ‘great outdoors’ is in such a special spot!
An attractive and really nice young couple surrounded by their loved-ones, with their ceremony and reception in a lovely outdoor setting near a lake on a beautiful summer day… what a treat for this photographer! And on top of all of that, a lovely ‘visual treat’ to end my day with them: paper lanterns were launched over the lake with tealights warming the air trapped inside, making them float dreamily over the lake like miniature hot-air balloons. Spectacular! These lanterns–borrowed from an asian tradition, are a wonderful idea and were especially appropriate in this setting by a lake. Yes… all-in-all, a wonderful day! :D
We have another country wedding coming up for us this weekend. This time, it’s in Eastern Ontario in Clarence Creek… it’s going to be great!
I can’t wait!
